On January 31, the first meeting of the Government of the Republic of Vestina in 2026 was held.
The meeting was devoted to defining the goals, objectives, and key areas of the Government’s work in 2026.
Consideration of the draft law on the National Archive of the Republic of Vestina
One of the priority items on the agenda was the discussion and preliminary consideration of the draft law on the National Archive of the Republic of Vestina.The document provides for the establishment of a modern archival institution aimed at the collection, preservation, and digital management of the country’s state and historical heritage.
The draft law, thoroughly developed by experts from the relevant authorities, represents a set of measures aimed at establishing a unified legal and technical framework to ensure the long-term preservation of and access to state archival collections. Participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of this institution for strengthening statehood, preserving cultural memory, and enhancing mechanisms of public information transparency.
Members of the Government discussed the key principles for organizing the structure of the National Archive, the specifics of its funding, as well as mechanisms for cooperation with international archival organizations and institutions.
At the meeting, a detailed report was heard on the progress of implementing the instructions set out in Presidential Order No. 6 of the Republic of Vestina dated December 28, 2025. Particular attention was paid to the level of fulfillment of the strategic tasks assigned to central executive bodies, as well as to the timelines for implementing key measures, especially in the fields of culture, state citizenship, legal regulation, and foreign policy.
The speakers highlighted progress in:
- — the development of annual plans for cultural events for 2026;
- — the preparation of a program for attracting new citizens;
- — the continuation of legal and legislative activities;
- — the intensification of international activities and strengthening of allied relations;
- — the organization of an analysis of the work of government bodies for the past reporting period.
The Head of State noted that special attention should be paid to the timely and high-quality execution of these instructions, as well as to strengthening interagency coordination. The President emphasized that the results of the work in 2025 would serve as a foundation for successful development in 2026 and called for the continued implementation of all instructions in strict accordance with the established deadlines.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY
Taking into account the successful work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2025 in expanding international ties and developing Vestina’s diplomatic channels, the President emphasized the importance of continuing such active efforts in the current year.
A special focus of the Government’s work was devoted to foreign policy initiatives and the strengthening of international cooperation. The Head of State highlighted the key areas of diplomatic activity and strategic partnerships with foreign countries.
It was emphasized that the signing of a new international agreement with the Bankot Federation is scheduled in the near future.This document is intended to promote the expansion of mutual investment projects, deepen trade and economic ties, and strengthen political dialogue.
The President expressed confidence that the signing of the agreement would be an important step in developing the country’s global partnerships and strengthening its position on the international stage. He also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure all necessary diplomatic and organizational measures are taken for the prompt preparation of this significant event.
